"Labor Day", 13-year-old Henry Wheeler's story revolves around his struggle to deal with the problems brought by adolescence while also attempting to become the man of the house and take care of his secluded mother, Adele. During a school shopping trip, Henry and his mother encounter Frank Chambers, a both intimidating and needy man. Later, it is revealed that he is a fugitive, but he manages to convince the mother and son to let him join them. The events that unfold during this long weekend of Labor Day will shape the rest of their lives.
